Wicks Business Information Acquires Georgetown Publishing

Alexandria, Virginia, July 27, 2000: Creating one of the largest newsletter publishing companies in the general management market, Wicks Business Information, LLC (Wicks) has acquired Georgetown Publishing House and Global Network, Inc. (Georgetown). The eight publications of Georgetown will join the Briefings Publishing Group (BPG) family of products. Terms of the contract, which was signed today in Washington, D.C., were not disclosed. Georgetown was owned by Dani Levinas with Norman Rentrop, a limited partner and 50% shareholder. Levinas will continue in a consulting capacity.

Georgetown publications cover such topics as leadership, employee retention, time management, business etiquette, public speaking, on-line marketing and business trends. The titles are: Trend Letter, American Speaker, The Organized Executive, What's Working Online, Leadership Strategies, Funny Business, Executive Advantage and Hiring the Best.

Briefings Publishing Group, Alexandria, VA, publishes four prominent newsletters for business professionals. Topics include: motivating for peak productivity, increasing job satisfaction and teamwork, effective communication and increasing sales. Briefings titles include: Communication Briefings, Fred Pryor's Manager's Edge, Team Management Briefings and The Competitive Advantage, as well as more than 50 books and videos.
