North Dakota Television Announces Deal to Acquire Five Stations in Fargo, N.D.
August 21, 2002 - North Dakota Television, LLC announced that it has entered into an agreement with Smith Television of North Dakota, Inc. to acquire KVLY-TV serving the Fargo-Valley City markets and KFYR-TV and its three satellite stations - KMOT-TV, KUMV-TV and KQCD-TV - serving the Minot-Bismarck-Dickinson markets.
Robert D. Gluck, President of Wicks Television, LLC and North Dakota Television stated, "We are very excited to take over the operations of these leading television stations. We look forward to building on the broadcasting excellence already established in Fargo and Bismarck by Smith Television and working together with the staff to continue their success."
The acquisition of the television stations in Fargo and Bismarck, North Dakota, is the first for North Dakota Television.
North Dakota Television is an affiliate of The Wicks Group of Companies, L.L.C. (www.wicksgroup.com), JPMorgan Partners, the private equity arm of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., and The Halyard Capital Fund, all New York-based private equity firms.
