THE WICKS GROUP OF COMPANIES, L.L.C. Forms New Mountain Learning

New York, NY (November 7, 2012): The Wicks Group of Companies, LLC ("Wicks"), a New York-based private equity firm, today announced the creation of New Mountain Learning ("New Mountain"), combining two Wicks portfolio company investments - CFM Religion Publishing Group, LLC ("CFM") and Wicks Educational Publishing, LLC ("WEP") - and establishing a platform for growth and diversification. New Mountain will be one of the preeminent providers of diversified learning materials and blended learning solutions serving select segments of the secondary, post-secondary, and religious markets in the U.S.

WEP develops educational materials and learning solutions for secondary and post-secondary schools under the brands EMC and Paradigm, focused on world languages, computer sciences and allied health. CFM develops religious education materials serving the Christian market under the brands RCL Benziger and Standard Publishing. New Mountain will leverage the complimentary expertise and resources of WEP and CFM, and will be led by a newly appointed CEO and Chairman, Eric Cantor. Mr. Cantor joins New Mountain with over 30 years of general management, marketing and sales experience, with the last 20 years focused on the education and publishing markets. Prior to New Mountain, Mr. Cantor held the position of Senior Vice President, College Readiness at The College Board and prior to that as President and CEO, Kaplan Professional, a division of Kaplan, Inc., and Senior Vice President and General Manager, F.W. Dodge, a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies.

Mr. Cantor stated, "I am very pleased to partner with Wicks and the talented management teams at WEP and CFM to build a world-class educational platform of significant scale and continue the development and delivery of outstanding courseware and instructional materials. Policymakers and education leaders nationwide continue to highlight the urgent need for students not just to learn but master critical skills in areas such as STEM and world language fluency in order to meet projected staffing shortages in related careers. New Mountain will focus its resources on providing education and career services to help all schools - public, private, charter and parochial - meet these challenges and prepare students for college, careers and life."
