Carter Bales co-founded The Wicks Group in January 1989. Mr. Bales is now a Senior Advisor to Wicks.
Mr. Bales was a Director of McKinsey & Company, Inc., the international management consulting firm, where he held senior level positions, including founding and leading the firm's worldwide practice in media and communications and leading the firm's practice in information technology. He retired in 1998 as a director of McKinsey to devote his full energies to Wicks.
From 1976 to 1996, Mr. Bales was head of McKinsey's worldwide consulting practice in media and communications. In that capacity, he served many of the leading communications, information and media companies in the United States, Europe and Japan on a broad range of business issues and opportunities.
Mr. Bales was a member of McKinsey's Board of Directors, Clientele and Professional Development Committee, Directors Committee (peer review evaluation committee) and Americas Council at various points in his career with McKinsey. He is now an Emeritus Director of McKinsey.
Mr. Bales is Chairman of the North Shore Land Alliance, a land trust on the North Shore of Long Island, a Governor Emeritus and trustee of The Nature Conservancy and a trustee of the Grand Canyon Trust, a trustee of the Echoing Green Foundation, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. In past years, he was a Governor and Vice Chairman of The Nature Conservancy, President of Cancer Research Institute, a trustee of Union Theological Seminary, and a trustee of the Episcopal School in the City of New York.
Carter Bales graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and has an MBA from the Harvard Business School. |
