CFM Religion Publishing Group was composed of a portfolio of leading religious education publishing businesses serving non-denominational and Catholic constituencies. The company's products ranged from classroom- and group-based curriculum materials to bible commentary lessons to resources for family discussion of religion. Under Wicks' ownership Signal Outdoor Advertising was an out-of-home media company focused on developing advertising-supported bus shelters, benches, and information kiosks. Signal's strategy is to secure long-term municipal franchise agreements to supply advertising displays to suburban markets surrounding major metropolitan areas along the eastern corridor from Boston to Washington, D.C. and in selected other markets. Signal also acquires and develops billboard and wallscape displays on an opportunistic basis in major metropolitan areas on the east coast and has transit advertising agreements with various large transit companies and municipal transit authorities.
Signal currently owns and operates approximately 3,800 shelter, bench and kiosk advertising structures in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, suburban Washington, D.C., Georgia and Florida, as well as a bus advertising franchise in Connecticut and a billboard display in New York City.
Founded in 2000, Southern Technical Institute, Inc. is a for-profit, vocational school with six campuses located in central Florida. Southern Tech is licensed by the Commission for Independent Education ("CIE") in the state of Florida and is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools ("ACICS").
Under Wicks' ownership Sundance Publishing was a leading publisher of PreK-3 reading instructional materials, and a publisher and distributor of K-12 literature-based reading skills and language arts learning materials.
Sundance began over 30 years ago as a school-market distributor of quality paperback books, and was among the first to provide teacher and student materials for using literature in the classroom for instruction in reading and other curricula. Sundance grew to become a leading publisher and distributor of hundreds of programs that included outstanding books, and literature-based video, audio and CD-ROM products.
Distinguished by its strong commitment to innovative reading instruction, Sundance served more than 175,000 teachers throughout the United States and internationally. Some of the Company's best known programs included Little Red Readers (guided emergent reading), Supa-Doopers (early chapter books), LEAP (enrichment activities for grades 4-6), LIFT (critical thinking activities for middle schools) and Novel Ideas (reading skills for high schools). Other products included: SoundStarts (phonics), and The Book Project - the first reading program to fully integrate real literature and skills.
Under Wicks' ownership Gordian was a leading provider of proprietary database management and procurement services for the repair and alterations ("R&A") segment of the construction sector. Through a process known as Job Order Contracting ("JOC"), the Company provides a full-range of software and service solutions that assist federal, state and local governmental authorities in the procurement of their R&A construction needs. The Company has served its public-sector clients since 1990, beginning with the development of PROGEN™, a user-interface software tool, which along with Gordian's extensive project management expertise, was designed to streamline an organization's facilities management function through JOC. Since that time, Gordian has developed a proprietary database of over 240,000 construction tasks and materials, and pioneered the development of a JOC Complete Solution ("JCS"), growing the Company's customer base to more than 100 active clients, serviced regionally across the United States. Today, the Company's clients implement Gordian's JCS in the procurement of approximately $1.0 billion in annual R&A spend.
Under Wicks' ownership Verse Music Group was an entertainment company based in New York City with a focus on music-related intellectual property rights and related assets. Verse owns over 50,000 copyrights through its acquisition of iconic brands and music catalogs including Salsoul Records, West End Records, Bethlehem Records and Golden Records. Its platform includes featured songs by artists Rod Stewart, Nina Simone, Jennifer Lopez, John 5, Avril Lavigne, Commodores, Tupac, and Celine Dion.
Under Wicks' ownership The Wicks Group of Companies, Inc., through its affiliate The Wicks Broadcast Group, L.P. ("Wicks Broadcast"), owned or operated ten television stations and nineteen radio stations in ten geographic markets.

Under Wicks' ownership Wicks Sports Information was formed to acquire and develop niche sports information and publishing businesses to take advantage of the large and growing demand for content and data by sports enthusiasts. As its initial transaction, WSI acquired the Daily Racing Form ("DRF"), the pre-eminent provider of daily editorial, past performance and breeding and sales information to the thoroughbred horseracing industry. The company has an annual circulation of over 13 million through 30 region editions and is available in more than 7,500 retail outlets and at most major racing venues nationwide.The company also provided editorial content and sells past performance information and other handicapping products through DRF.com. DRF also sold interactive handicapping products under the Formulator brand.
Wilks Broadcast Group operates radio broadcasting stations in attractive mid-size U.S. markets. As its first transaction, WBG closed on the acquisition of three radio stations serving the Fresno, CA market in June 2005. WBG made its second acquisition in October 2005, with the purchase of four FM stations in Reno, NV and four FM stations in Lubbock, TX. In January 2007, WBG further expanded its platform to a total of 18 FM stations with the acquisition of four FM stations in Kansas City, MO and three FM stations in Columbus, OH. In March 2009, WBG acquired three FM stations in Denver, CO. WBG currently operates 21 FM radio stations across six markets.
Under Wicks' ownership Wilks Broadcasting was a radio broadcasting company that acquired and operated stations in demographically attractive mid-sized U.S. markets (DMA 50 to 150). The Company sought to purchase multiple stations in each market in order to gain a leading position in terms of both audience and revenue share. This "clustering" strategy also created economies of scale, arising from direct cost savings through shared resources, opportunities for cross-selling products, and creating a more attractive working environment for high level talent.
